Black Castle Wines

About Our Wines

Cabernet Franc
Cherry, blackberry, and vanilla aromas. Lighter and fruitier than its Cabernet Sauvignon relative. The tannin is soft and gentle, and the finish is smooth. Enjoy slightly below room temperature with lighter beef and heavier pasta or fish.

Meritage
Black Castle's signature wine. A smooth blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. A rich flavor of black currant, plum, and spice. It is perfectly balanced and pairs well with all beef and pork dishes. Serve slightly below room temperature.

Merlot
Lighter and fruitier than its Cabernet Sauvignon relative. Cherry, blackberry, and vanilla aromas. The tannin is soft and gentle, and the finish is smooth. Enjoy slightly below room temperature with lighter beef or heavier pasta and fish.

Pinot Grigio
A refreshing white wine that is semi-dry with a very fruity aroma and taste. Pairs well with light dishes such as chicken in a rich white sauce. Enjoy slightly chilled.

Chardonnay
Classically refreshing with a fresh fruit flavor. A well-balanced Burgundy style Chardonnay with a traditional body, good acidity, and a long clean finish. Enjoy slightly chilled with light dishes such as poultry, lobster, or scallops. Good cheeses for Chardonnay include Gruyere, Provolone, and Brie.

Bull's Blood
A blend of Cab Sauvignon, Cab Franc, Merlot, and Kekfrankos. Aged in old oak, it offers pleasant aromas of cherries, berries, and cinnamon spice, followed by bold flavors of mouth-filling tart-sweet black-cherry fruit, a snap of lemony acidity. The surprising soft tannins persist into a long finish. Enjoy slightly below room temperature with beef or heavy pastas and cheese.

Tokaj
This is the “King of Wines and the Wine of King” from the oldest and most Hungarian wine region. The classic amber-gold color is followed by intense aromas of butterscotch, raisin, and apricot. The Aszú grape imparts appealing flavors, along wit its persistent undertones of honey. Full-bodied and sweet, its supple layers of rich honeyed raisin linger on the palate, much like a fine Cognac. Perfect to start or finish a meal. A fine accompaniment to foie gras.
